Welcome back!  
This week our word study lessons continued to focus on digraphs. CK was introduced. Ck is used at the end of a word or syllable after a short vowel. (K is used after an r-controlled vowel or long vowel, and C is used at the end of a multi-syllable word)
We continue to write "Small Moment: personal narrative stories. Our focus has been on making the people in our stories think, move and talk. This is what Donald Crews did in his book, Shortcut
During Reading Workshop we are reading from individual book bags. Our focus has been on these goals:
We learned a fun math game during math this week. The game is called Make 10 Go Fish. It is just like the traditional game but rather than making matching pairs - players try to find pairs of cards that have a sum of 10. This is a great way to learn the 10s facts. Try it at home.
