Welcome back to our classroom blog.
We have been keeping very busy. On this day we were estimating how many sticks were in a large, plastic bag. Here are our guesses.
Now we are working in groups to makes groups of 10 so they are easier to count.
Here we have laid them out to count.
We decided we could combine bundles of 10s to make 100s. Can you quickly see how many sticks we counted?
This game is called Two Turns to Win. Student have to spin a spinner and roll a die to see how many sticks to collect. Then we will practice adding two-digit numbers by counting the sticks.
We are finding a solution on our whiteboards.
Now let's try it with our math partners.
We are comparing the height of two penguins and a student.
Oh wow - what a great way to write a senses poem about marshmallows.
Friday Free Choice fun and Indoor Recess
Just one more week until April break. Next week we will continue to learn how to write poetry. We will also learn more about the 4 seasons. Please continue to send either snow boots or rain boots every day. We are trying to avoid tracking mud onto the classroom rug.
