During Second Step (Social-Emotional Curriculum) we are learning to be confident, good listeners.
We are learning about symmetry. Each student painted half a butterfly and then folded the butterfly in half to have a symmetrical wing on the other side,
Happy Dot Day! This day all started with a great book about a child that said they couldn't draw. The teacher asked them to draw a dot and sign it. She hung it up and from then on the child's confidence improved. That child went on to encourage another classmate who said, "I can't draw." Dot Day celebrates how boosting courage can help others release their creative potential.

Our special dots are made using white crayon to create a design and then painting over it with water colors. It is called crayon resist.
Enjoying drawing and coloring during Quiet Time.
More handwriting practice on whiteboards.

Write it - say it, spell it, say it again!

We have had a few really fun and busy weeks. I am really enjoying getting to know this class. They are already learning so much. I look forward to meeting you all during our upcoming conferences,
