Welcome back!
We began our science unit by observing termites. Mystery Science showed us how termites follow the path of an ink circle.
We are learning about Sound and Light. We made sound by creating vibrations. Then we experimented with rubberbands on various-sized cans.
We made papel picado for the Day of the Dead.
We tapped tuning forks on the table and watched how vibrations cause water to splash out of the bowl.
We listened to Room on the Broom and made our own class book.
Students shared more pumpkin glyphs.
We made digraph witches!
We are shaking sound boxes to try to find our partner.
10 and some more equations - learning about teens
We sorted materials into see through (transparent), kind of see-through (translucent), and not see through (opaque)
We made beautiful translucent flowers using tissue paper.
This beautiful flower stayed in our classroom window.
Here we are walking back from the church during our evacuation drill. We are listening to a book in the church hall while we wait for the others to arrive.
Things we are thankful for...Our family turkeys
We are making our "Count by 5's turkey quilt".
Outside fun in our first snowfall.
We are communicating using just light to send messages to our partner.
Practicing with equivalent equations
Ms. Betsy came to teach us about the "Size of the Problem". We sorted scenario into bowls. Our reactions to problems should match the size of the problem. Please remember to send in boxes of instant potatoes for our food shelf collection if you would like to donate. Thank you for sending your child ready for our cold and wet weather conditions. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving break!
