Welcome back. I hope you had an amazing April break. Our class did an amazing job on Friday for out Whole-School Morning Meeting. I bet they told you all about it. We also had a dance residency on Friday, and we helped plant trees for Arbor Day with our 5th grade buddy classes! What an exciting day. 

Our class is also super excited to be incubating chicken eggs. Thank you Finn and Harper for dontating the fertilized eggs. We started the unit talking all about chickens. We discussed whey farmers would raise chickens. Below are things that chickens need.

Please continue to keep track of when out chicks will hatch using the calendar we sent home. Also - please return the permission slip for our trip to Shelburne Farms. 

Several students have been sharing their favorite books. I missed a few photos on Friday when Miss Alves was solo teaching. 

Mr. Baird and his 5th grade class joined us again for a super funny story. Then the two buddy classes went outside to play. 

We played a kindness game using bean bags. Students had to walk around with bean bags on their heads. If they dropped one - they would need to freeze. A classmate could risk dropping their own to bend down and pick one up for a friend. 

We estimated the number of sticks in a pile of popsicle sticks. Then we helped bundle them to find out the amount. 

We are partner reading for Reader's Workshop. We have also started reading many well known fairy tales. 

We have transitioned from Exploratory with Mr. Zach to STEM class with Mr. Flint. This will be our final exploratory of the year.

Our class will miss Miss Alves. The student's really enjoyed having a second teacher in our classroom. Her last day at CCS will be Wednesday. She will be graduating from UVM this month. We wish her best in her future.
