MARCHing ahead with new learning!

Our class has been writing non-fiction teaching books about things they know a lot about. Prior to this writing unit we spent several weeks reading non-fiction texts and learning about features such as the table of contents, photographs, captions, side bars, close-ups, maps, indexes and glossaries.

We learn from each other's writing.

This month share theme is "teaching" others something we know a lot about.

I hope you are all enjoying the long holiday weekend. It was great to meet with all of you during the Parent Teacher Conferences. Next week students will complete and share their non-fiction chapter books. We will continue to work with 2 and 3D shapes. Please continue to practice the new Fundations Trick Words.
