April showers bring May flowers! Our class is really blooming! We've been writing some very creative poetry. First we listened to Like Butter on Pancakes by Jonathon London. This author writes with unique word choice that invites the reader to use their senses. For example the book begins with the phase, "First light melts like butter on pancakes, spreads warm and yellow across your pillow."
We are writing several types of poetry. So far we have written sensory poems about food, places, and seasons.

This week we enjoyed a wonderful middle school musical - Seussical. It was filled with great acting, singing and dancing.
Just one more week of school until April Break. On Friday morning we will have our third Exploratory. Students will take part in activities such a hiking, book making, baking bread, fairy making, computer projects, cheer and dance, and several others. Book Orders are due Monday, April 11th. There will be no Fundations homework this week. Students will receive just a Home Connections math sheet.
Have a wonderful week and spring break! We will be traveling to Florida to see our daughters at college.
