Another wonderful couple of weeks in 2nd grade. We've started a non-fiction reading unit. As we study non-fiction texts, we ask ourselves, "What is the author trying to teach us?"
This is our math lesson based on Jack and the Beanstalk. We estimated the number of beans in the bag. Then we counted the beans using cups of 10. We were able to combine ten cups to make hundreds. Our final count was 399.
This is a game of Scoop, Count, and Compare.
This day was October 16th. How many arrays can we make with 16 tiles?
Our Scholastic News magazine is teaching us about rotting pumpkins.
During word study we are learning suffixes such as s, es, ing, ed, er, and est.
The Second Step social skill lessons have been wonderful. We are leaning the importance of respectful listening and focusing.
The student in the first photo is confused because she wasn't listening during direction time.
American Symbol Shares
We are beginning our American Symbol unit on Monday. We will also learn to write Halloween poetry. Looking forward to another great week.
