Hope everyone is enjoying this April Break. Can you believe there are only 7 weeks of school left? We have lots of learning to do. This week we will continue our plant unit. We are also planning a frog life cycle unit. That will begin as soon as we have frog spawn/eggs. Please let me know if you have any in your ponds. We will need eggs and a large pail of pond water with plants for our aquarium.
Here we are investigating seeds.
During Reading Workshop we are reading Biographies. It has been great to learn about the lives of people like Amelia Earhart, Abraham Lincoln, Helen Keller, Jane Goodall, Albert Einstein, King Tut, Babe Ruth, and many, many more.
SPIRIT WEEK was lots of fun. Check out our crazy hair and twinning photos.
Math clock games
Our published poems. Students did a wonderful job typing their own poems. The poems are hanging just outside our classroom on the bulletin board.
CCS will celebrate Arbor Day next Friday. On May 10th the second graders will attend a show at the Flynn Theater. The show is Diary of a Worm, Fly, etc. A permission form will be sent home soon. I am hopeful that we no longer going to need to wear snowpants for recess. Students have been wearing them to recess if it is 40 degrees or cooler. Please send rain boots on rainy, muddy days. This helps keep the water and mud out of our classroom.
