How can it already be mid-March? We are really cruising in 1st grade!

These are the new spelling patterns that we have been practicing.  

During math we are practicing addition strategies for solving equations efficiently in ways that make sense mathematically.  This is important before we move on to trickier math or memorize all the facts. 

During our animal unit we are learning about animal parents and their offspring. This is a matching memory game. Some can be tricky because some offspring look like their parents but others do not at all.

Mathematicians practice telling time to the hour and half hour.

They also make fact family equations.

Part of our Math Menu is filling in our 1000 Book. We work on one page a week. 

We are sorting animals by how they move.  Animals may walk/run, hop, fly, slither, crawls, etc.
