We are writing opinion pieces during writing workshop. We started by writing about our favorite beach item from a collection. We then moved on to our favorite dragon. 

It is important to start with a catchy beginning, add reasons with details, and end with a conclusion. 

Please enjoy the writing with your child when the unit is complete.

More Friday Free Choice Fun

Scholastic Book Orders are due Friday. If you would like to order online, our class code is LKKRM. We will most likely have two more book orders. They should have some great selections to keep the kiddos reading all summer. The Second Grade class is doing persuasive writing. They wrote a letter to Mrs. Sumner asking for a K-2 Spirit Week next week, so we will be having another one. The themes are:

Monday - Mismatch Day (mix up your socks, colors, patterns - it’s your choice!)

Tuesday - Hat or Fun Hair Day

Thursday - Class Color Day (each class will choose a theme for their clothing choice)

Friday - Pajamas Day
