Happy President's Day!
We read the book, The Jelly Donut Difference. The is a story of someone who changed and learned a lesson about kindness. We made our own kindness donuts and covered them with kindness sprinkles.
. During Kindness Week we worked in small groups with 3rd graders. We colored bookmarks that were later hidden in the Library for book lovers to enjoy.
Author Jason Chin was an amazing guest.We learned about his interest in being an artist from a very young age. He did a lot of research before writing his non-fiction books.


2D Shapes Go FishWe just completed our Opinion Writing unit. We wrote our opinions about the best beach items, dragons, and wild animals.

This month in math we are pretending to go to Antarctica. We are leaning about penguins.We take notes about them and compare their heights.
We are comparing our height to the King and Rockhopper penguins.

On Seesaw we practiced basic fractions. We read the book, A Bike Like Sergious. This teaches us about Needs vs. Wants.
During Fundations we practice spelling and marking words and sentences. Recently we have been learning about blends and silent e.
We listened to the book, The Quilt Maker's Gift. This book teaches about how a greedy king gave up all of his things and became so much happier. Finally the quilt maker made him a beautiful quilt.
