Wow - it's May already! We are continuing our learning and fun. It seems crazy that we only have 6 more weeks together.
Below is some Free Choice fun. Apparently my desck was invaded by creatures.
As part of Arab Awareness Month, we read Crescent Moons and Pointed Minerets. This book's amazing illustrations showed several mosques designed with unique shapes. We created our own mosaics using various shapes,
During math we estimated the number of popsicle sticks in a gallon-size bag. Then we worked together to count the sticks by bundling groups of 10. We noticed we could bundle groups of 10 to make larger bundles of 100!
This week's "Your Choice" shares.Today we started partner reading on Epic. We will do this for the next few Fridays to mix things up.
The first grade classes did an amazing job leading our Whole-School Morning Meeting in the MPR on Friday. They did an amazing job and were very respectful role models. Friday was Arbor Day, so we taught some Arbor Day facts, shared a couple riddles, read a poem, and shared our water color illustrations of things we get from trees. Mr. Prout from Horsefords donated an oak tree for our playground. During April Break my husband and I were thrilled to attend our daughter's wedding in Florida. Here are a couple photos. It was an amazing event.
