Welcome back to our classroom blog.

November is Native American Heritage Month.
We read the book Fry Bread and made our own class version.
Here are a few of our family traditions.
Recently also we enjoyed the book Berry Song
Berry Song” is a wonderful book about the stewardship of the land. As a grandmother and granddaughter forage for food the author takes us through the seasons.
We shared some of the foods from the land that we eat, and ways to take care of the Earth.
My Powerful Hair is a book about the many benefits of having traditions and stories passed down from our ancestors.
Ask your child what they drew and painted in their hair print,
We are learning to spell and read Digraphs.
We are sorting pictures by their digraph sounds.
We made trains of 6 and 7 to represent equations with 3 numbers.
We are making hand turkeys for our turkey quilt.
We are completing our "Count by 5's - Turkey Quilts".
Sharing "Something we are thankful for"
We are practicing Doubles and Double +1 equations.

Our new spelling Heart Words include WH words: who, what & when. Soon we will learn where, why, and how.
Our new science theme is Sound, Light, and Communication. Our first activity was using our ears during a listening walk to hear the sounds around us.
We are leaning that sound is made by vibrations. We tried a few experiments wih tuning forks, tin cans, rubber bands and rulers.
