Spring has finally sprung! We made spring flower art using forks and paint. Our art is displayed in the lobby.

We've been learning about Arab American History Month in April. Below are two books we enjoyed. 

 

The mosques are filled with beautiful shape patterns. 

This month we are reading multiple books from the same series. 

A 7th grade class came in to share a read aloud of Each Kindness. 

Finally short sleeve weather makes an appearance!

We made little origami boats as a follow up to the book The Proudest Blue.

This month we share our favorite books. 

After reading The Kindest Red, we played the Kindness game with bean bags.  Ask your child about it. 

We estimated the number of popsicle sticks in a gallon-sized bag of popsicle sticks. Then we bundled the sticks into groups of ten and combined them all on the rug. 

Wow - once we grouped the 10s to make "100" bundles - we counted 424 sticks.

We are so exctied to be starting an Embriology Unit and hatching chicks in our classroom. We just learned many facts about chickens on the farm.

More favorite book shares

We made posters for our Whole-School Morning Meeting after break. We will be teaching about Arbor Day. 

Some 3rd grade students came in to read us their fractured fairy tales.

We just started a Retelling unit. It is important for students to be able to retell the most important details from a book they read.
