I hope you all enjoyed the April Break. I love seeing and hearing all the signs of spring. Can you believe we are down to 6 weeks of school? We have a lot of exciting things happening.
As a school we neared our first goal for penny collection. Each penny represents a student or students who were taking care of each other, themselves, or our school. Julian added our classes pennies to the large collection. An older student spun the wheel. The money will be donated this time to COTS.

Student votes for various non-profit organizations. 

Our classroom earned their first reward - PJ and Stuffy Day. 

Those stuffies sure are good story listeners!!

During WIN time Mrs. Spellman read the classes The Egyptian Cinderella. 

We learned a lot of new facts about Egypt.

Some upcoming events include 2 more 4-Winds classes, watching our middle school musical, watching the grades 5-6 and 7-8 Spring Concerts, Grandparents Day, CCS Champ Run and Community BBQ, and our final field trip across the lake on a ferry to Essex, NY. for a picnic. More information will be sent home next week. We are still in need of the items on Sign-UP Genius. I'll bring in celery, but we will need 6 white carnations. We plan to watch colored water travel through the stems. Also, May book orders are due Monday. Our final book order will go out soon. Scholastic offers several great books and series to help encourage and excite kids about summer reading. Maybe set a reading goal.
