Our Fairy Tale unit ended with various versions of well known stories. One of our favorites is The Three Little Pigs. We worked as engineers to create straw and stick houses for the pigs. Our houses needed to be strong enough that the wolf (fan) could not blow them down.
Our Plant unit continues. We studied how colored water travels through stems, and we planted grass and seeds in our grow lab.
Our tadpoles are growing.
A little froggy art.
Four Winds Fun
Dissecting owl pellets
What did the owls eat?
Grandparents Day was wonderful. Here are a few photos from the day.
This week our class has been working together to create marble runs. We are testing our runs using balls with different mass (marbles, wooden balls, steel balls). How does slope effect speed? Does the length of the tube matter? What things slow the balls down?
Our class is reading The Mouse and the Motorcycle by Beverly Cleary. Each student has a copy of the book. After each chapter we complete a comprehension packet. We will watch the movie when the book is finished.

I can't believe we are approaching our final two weeks of school. Look Ahead Day is on Monday of the last week of school. We will also have our School-Wide Celebration (Field Day) that afternoon. We are excited about our ferry boat field trip on Tuesday, June 13th. Please be sure to read the school newsletter for more important information and dates.
