We are reviewing the spelling of common heart words including the, is, his, as, and has. 

This is a photo of the 5th grade class leading our whole-school morning meeting. Each grade leads a meetig one time during the school year. We will lead the May meeting. 

Below are several picture books we have been enjoying. 

We learned about the Zones of Self Regulation. Our feelings can be catagorized into catagories. It's okay to feel lots of different ways. It is helpful to be in the Green Zone and "Ready to Learn".

This is our Number Corner board. We have been showing many ways to represent a number. 

Below are photo cards from our first two Second Step lessons. Second Step is our social skills curriculum. The beginning goals include learning how to be a focused listener using eyes, and ears, and brain. 

We are slowly making our way through the alphabet, practicing the correct letter formation. Once they have all been taught and practiced, students will be required to make them correctly. We should see some significant penmanship improvements throughout the year.

We have loved having monarch caterpillars in our classroom. 2 of them have already made a chrysalis.

Sharing a favorite nursery rhyme on Share Day.

This is our calming/peace corner. It is a nice place to visit when we want to get into the green zone and "ready to learn". It's a great place to regulate our feelings.

We are listening to a sentence and then using sentence frames to lay down the sentence beginning with an uppercase letter, including spaces and ending punctuation.
