Welcome Back! Happy October!

Below our class is putting the alphabet magnets in alphabetical order. We will use these magnetic spelling boards to spell words in 1st and 2nd Grade. The board will eventually be filled with digraphs, r-controlled vowels, double vowels, suffixes and more.

We practice spelling Trick Words on our whiteboards.

Today we kicked of WIN time with a great book and a chance to be together as a large group of 1st graders.

                               Reading Partners are reading many books together. They can tell you all about their job as a READING PARTNER.

Mrs. Heustis shared that the class has started a "Global Read-Aloud" and had to be really great listeners in order to crack some codes and break into a locked box that contained their first book.

We are sorting words and pictures for Word Study.

Number Corner - We are collecting Pattern Blocks each day.

We're hoping for great weather for our field trip this week. We will keep the pumpkins at school for a day or two and then send then home.  I've enjoyed meeting with several of you at our Parent Teacher Conferences last week.
